Businessman Wink Hartman Announces Campaign for Governor

February 14, 2017

Wink Hartman, a native Kansan and small-businessman, today announced the launch of his campaign for Governor. Hartman, a conservative Republican, will immediately begin campaigning for the nomination to be decided in the 2018 Republican Primary.

“I’m a businessman – not a politician,” Hartman said. “As a businessman, I’ve watched the dysfunction in Topeka with increasing frustration. Instead of finding solutions, Topeka is causing problems. Instead of providing stability for Kansas families, farms and businesses, Topeka is creating uncertainty. Most importantly, instead of improving the quality of life for Kansans, Topeka is making things more difficult. I’m running for Governor because it’s time to fix Topeka and that’s exactly what we’ll do.”

Wink was born, raised and educated in Kansas. He has built dozens of successful companies and has created thousands of quality jobs for workers throughout Kansas. Wink and his wife, Libba Hartman, have five children and eight grandchildren.

“From our family farms to aviation, energy production, to manufacturing and health care to education Kansas will always be an innovation leader,” Hartman said. “That innovative spirit has been dampened in recent years by a dysfunctional state government. I’m not running for office to build a political resume or climb the political ladder. I’m running for Governor because I believe that Kansans deserve better. Together, with the people of Kansas, we can build a government that makes our state proud.”
